Privacy Policy
Last updated June 4, 2026
Campers Reserve is a verified-member RV-resort membership network, and protecting the people and partner resorts in it is part of the membership. This policy explains, in plain terms, what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you join, we collect your name, email address, member or partner resort account details, and password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
Network data. Information entered into the platform, including member profiles, partner resort records, stay records, reservations, payments, payout records, reviews, notices, and communications.
Verification data. Membership includes an annual background check. When verification is required, we collect consent records, verification status, provider identifiers, expiration dates, review notes, and decision summaries. We do not store full third-party background-check reports unless required for platform review or legal compliance.
Usage data. We collect anonymized usage analytics, error logs, and performance metrics to improve the platform.
Payment information. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. You set one refundable $500 deposit held by the program, network-wide, so you can travel deposit-free at every gate; we do not store full card numbers or sensitive payment details on our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Campers Reserve membership network
- To process membership dues, the one refundable $500 deposit held by the program, resort payouts, and related notifications
- To send stay reminders, member communications, and partner resort communications
- To provide customer support
- To detect and prevent fraud or security issues
- To manage the annual background check and eligibility for verified-member stays
- To improve the platform based on anonymized usage patterns
3. Keeping Resort Data Separate
Each partner resort has its own private workspace. One resort can never see another resort's records. Network records are shared only where needed to support a member stay, a resort payout, a review, a notice, a legal requirement, or program operation.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share information only with:
- Service providers — Stripe (payments and resort payouts), background-check providers, Resend (email), and Twilio (SMS), only as necessary to deliver network services
- Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or governmental authority
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with advance notice
5. Data Security
We protect your information with industry-standard safeguards:
- Your data is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption for sensitive credentials
- Passwords are never stored in plain text — they are protected with scrypt hashing and unique salts
- Everything you send is encrypted in transit over TLS/HTTPS
- Sign-in attempts are throttled with rate limiting on authentication endpoints to block brute-force attacks
- People only see what their role allows through role-based access control within each account
- Sensitive review work is locked down — verification, payout, and review queues are restricted to authorized operators only
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account cancellation, data is retained for 30 days to allow for export and is then permanently deleted. Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely. Stay, payout, verification, review, and notice records may be retained longer when needed for payment reconciliation, legal compliance, dispute handling, trust and safety, or fraud prevention.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of your data
- Correction — update inaccurate information
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and data
- Export — export your data in a standard format
- Restrict processing — limit how we use your data
To exercise these rights, contact us at support@campersreserve.com.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Analytics are collected server-side without cookie-based tracking.
9. Children's Privacy
Campers Reserve is intended for adults and is not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify active members and partner resorts of material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
